ddHifi Premium Audio Accessories Review
General/Packaging
ddHifi is a brand where it is well known for its audio accessories, ranging from budget range to higher price tier, there’s something for someone within ddHifi’s product catalogue. The packaging for the cables and adapter are very similar in a cardboard that doesn’t look cheap, it does retain some premium-ish feel to it. Let’s get into the review below where I have compiled all of them in this article for easier access to the readers.
Foreword
My review is solely based on what I hear via my equipment and I never consider my reviews to be objective in any way rather a subjective approach. Do take into consideration that everyone’s ear anatomy is not the same, so the psychoacoustics perception might be different as well, but i believe it will not stray too far
ddHiFi C90 Earphone Storage Case
Build quality is solid as it is genuine Nappa leather made out of cowhide
The flap is magnetic which made accessibility easier in terms of storing and removing the IEMs
Most of the IEMs in my collection fit into the case just fine, with the exception of several multi driver IEMs which have larger shells that struggle to fit in(Z1R, KZ AS24, Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite), i can forcefully push it in, but at the same time i might risk damaging the cables
Although by name it is a storage case, at times i do use it to store my TOTL cables as well
With the asking price and the build quality, craftsmanship and overall functionality, i would say the price is fair and i have no issue recommending this if you’re in the lookout for a premium storage case
ddHifi DJ44CPro 4.4F to 3.5M Adapter
Overall build quality is very premium and relatable to the asking price
Both front and rear housing are combined in order to achieve a shielding effect from RFI/EMI
The female socket is from Pentaconn Japan which ensures high quality and lasting connections
Internal cabling is using Nyx OCC 49 core wire
In comparison with the older model which i happened to own, DJ44C, my IEM (Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite) which uses 4.4 balanced cable, plugged into the DJ44CPro to my Sony WM1A DAP, it has less coloration compared to DJ44C, it sounds slightly cleaner and a little bit more dynamic compared to DJ44C which sounds slightly “thicker”
Do take into consideration that this is purely based on my listening experience on my setup, i am not going to debate whether an adapter will alter the sound or not, but personally, the perceived differences are there and i am able to hear the difference
So, if you ask me if it's worth spending this amount of money for an adapter, my answer is yes, if you are seeking for a high quality output, but if you’re someone who can’t tell the differences, then this is not for y
ddHifi TC07S 50CM/ ddHifi Mfi07S 50CM
Cable is solid in terms of build quality
The type c connector is very sturdy and the design is very well thought of in my opinion, there’s an area where you can hold and pull the cable out from the device instead of just yanking it which, in the long run will damage the cable
Once the connector is plugged into the device, it has a solid click sound which indicates that it’s secured
The connector doesn’t wobble when it is plugged into the device, very sturdy and secured
Cable itself, the outer layer is protected by PVC, the internal itself is also noteworthy, both the power and data signal line are separated to ensure clean signal transmission
In terms of sound, comparing to the other model, the TC05 and MFI06, although both their structure and cost are different, what is evident to me is that the sound itself is cleaner, and the noise floor is very clean compared both TC05 and MFI06
When i am using the Mfi07S with my iphone and Earmen’s dongle, there is no RFI noise when the dongle is placed very near or stacked directly on the phone, normally when using other cables, there will be some sort of noise induced, of course the dongle’s shielding is also important, but when combined with a proper cable, the effect is very minimal or close to none
It is also worth mentioning that the cable is bidirectional, meaning it works on either end for Type C to C, you don’t have to follow any direction as you did with the TC05
Also, the Mfi07s only allows data transmission and supplying power to the dongle, it will not charge your phone
*The opinions are formed after using the cable for quite a period of time (1 month+) comparing between the models mentioned for the differences. The differences are based on my listening setup, hence your mileage might vary
*The accessories are supplied by ddHifi for the purpose of this review, I thank them for the opportunity as always. All thoughts are of my own
