Tanchjim Space PRO AT Edition's Review

General / Packaging / Build Tanchjim Audio has been on a consistent run of well-executed releases that punch above their respective price points. I reviewed the Tanchjim Luna AT earlier and came away very impressed with what they can do with an IEM. Today, I have their dongle DAC/amp with me, the Space Pro, a successor to the well-regarded Space Under the hood you get dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips and very high power output to boot! Packaging is the usual Tanchjim style and certainly not lacking in terms of presentation. Build quality is genuinely impressive. The body is fully CNC-machined, finished with a transparent window on the front  that lets you peer into the internals. Specifications and Key Features DAC/AMP Configuration: Dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 DACs paired with Dual ES8262 Amplifiers Output Ports: 3.5mm Single-Ended and 4.4mm Balanced Input: Detachable USB Type-C interface Maximum Power: Up to 618mW @ 26Ω Frequency Response: 8Hz to 80kHz (-0.5dB) THD+N: 0.0...

Divinus Velvet Eartips Review

General/Packaging/Build Quality

Divinus is a brand from Korea and not sure if many of you guys are aware of it, they also produce TWS, but sadly it is currently discontinued from what I understand from Divinus’s Rep. I have the Velvet with me today which was sent to me for review courtesy of Yoon from Divinus. I have taken the time to evaluate the eartips and the sonic performance in terms of synergy with several IEMs. The packaging is rather straightforward, with a box which consists of 5 pairs of Velvet ranging from XS,S,M,L,XL.

The Velvet has a very smooth texture and at times, it does feel a little slippery to properly grip it, but when it is in your ears, it stays inside snugly and very smooth and comfortable. The shape of the Velvet is also very suitable for those IEMs without venting, especially BA sets that are prone to build up pressure within the ear, using it with Velvet resolves that issue.

Gears Used for this review

  • Thieaudio Hype 2

  • Tangzu Fudu

  • iKKO OH5

  • 7Hz Legato

Sound Impression

  • Based on the listening impression for the IEMs mentioned above, it’s safe to say the soundstage is greatly enhanced and it sounds more holographic with the Velvet

  • Treble does sound a bit more energetic with it but remains in-offensive

  • Bass is tighter and has a little bit more punch

  • The mids are slightly being pushed forward as well as the vocal presence

Suggested Pairing

  • Works very well with IEM that has short or medium length nozzle

  • IEMs without vent if you have issue with pressure build up in your ears

  • Has good synergy with IEM that’s slightly warm, if you prefer your IEM be more energetic, Velvet works very well with energetic IEM as well, yeap, looking at you trebleheads

Comparison

Spinfit W1

  • Very grippy texture

  • Attract dust very easily

  • The highs are quite energetic and the lows doesn’t seem to have a lot of impact

  • Airy soundstage

Final Thoughts

The build quality and the improvement in terms of comfort and sonic performance itself is worth every penny, despite the premium commanding price, the investment in eartip and the benefit it brings is bigger compared to other elements in the audio chain, one of it being the cable. Do I recommend this? Certainly!
